Review - Do You Entertain Like a Gentleman?

The holidays come with parties, food and decorating opportunities galore. But, are you a confident hostess? Want more ideas? Need a place to start?

No matter if you are a novice, or a pro, I have the perfect book for you! Entertain Like a Gentleman by David Harap runs the full array of party occasions, from brunch, to tailgating, and Oktoberfest. Chock full of scrumptious recipes, it will have you entertaining like a pro in no time.

Some of my top favorites included:
  • Apple Gingerbread Pudding - Ch. 8 Oktoberfest
  • Drunken Pineapple Rum Shrimp Ceviche - Ch. 6 Pool Party
  • Pumpkin Muffins with Brown Sugar Creme Filling - Ch. 14 Brunch With the In-Laws
  • Dinosaur Eggs -Ch. 9 Cooking with Kiddos
Mmm... all delicious recipes, and easy to make.  These simple, yet elegant ideas will have your guests singing your praises! Each chapter has a full menu of ideas, a shopping list and equipment list for each recipe. Some chapters even have added suggestions for making your gathering more enjoyable. This book helps to plan everything out for the host or hostess. I have to say that I am always looking for ways to make entertaining go more smoothly.

The first chapter is even a basic course of Entertaining 101, starting off with the 25 tenants for stress free entertaining , conversions and how to equip a kitchen. All important building blocks for any person who wants to entertain their friends or family.

My only problem is I would have enjoyed seeing photos of the different foods. The cover art is truly beautiful and drew me in, but I wanted to see more. Perhaps it is because I am more visual about my food.

You can find your own copy on Amazon. Why not add this to your holiday shopping list, or give it to a friend?
