Perk Up Breakfast! #Nutellaparty

Spoon, Bowl, Oatmeal & Repeat. Is this your routine?

So, how do you get your kids excited about eating breakfast?

I was excited to be picked to host a Nutella Breakfast Party with our friends. I mean, Nutella? Who doesn't love the creamy mix roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of chocolate? So, how do you like your Nutella?

Did you know that:
  • Each 13 oz. jar of Nutella contains more than 50 hazelnuts?
  • Nutella does not contain any hydrogenated or trans fats.
  • It is low in sodium when compared with other nut butters.
  • Nutella contains no artificial colors or preservatives
  • It doesn't contain peanuts or peanut ingredients. The product also does not come into contact with peanuts during manufacturing.

Nutella spread was first created in 1940 by Mr. Pietro Ferrero, a pastry maker and founder of the Ferrero company. During WWII chocolate was in short supply, but hazelnuts were plentiful in the Piedmont region of NW Italy. And so began the fabulous melding of nuts and cocoa.

Of course Nutella goes on so many great breakfast foods, pancakes, toast, english muffins and even smear it in your tortilla for a fun breakfast roll-up! Just pair your spread with fruit and whole grains for a fun and healthy breakfast option.

So, how do you get your kids to eat their breakfast? Well, give them something they love (Nutella would be a great one!) and add variety to keep them interested. Check out Nutella's site for more information about the importance of breakfast and nutritional information. Besides our silly fruit face, do you have any great ideas for creative breakfast food with Nutella?

Though we loved our breakfast bar, Nutella also works well for snacks on Ritz crackers or in dessert. Check out this Hazelnut cupcake with Nutella buttercream:

No matter how you like to eat your Nutella, one thing I have learned is no bite goes uneaten! Even with the pickiest of eaters.

A big thank you to Nutella for sponsoring our breakfast bar party! Grab your own jar of Nutella at your local grocery store or use their site's Store Locator.

*Disclaimer - I was selected by MomSelect to host this party on behalf of Nutella and sent product and supplies to facilitate the party and giveaway to my guests. No monetary compensation was involved. All opinions are my own.
