  3. OK, don't get grossed out but I LOVE this stuff. So bad for me I know. I was raised eating it. Maybe it is a very frugal Southern thing like us eating squirrel or rabbit dumplings. My son loves it too but we only have it every once in a blue moon.

  4. Shana is right, it's a Southern thing. I grew up eating sandwiches made from this stuff. I haven't thought about it in years.

  7. Sadly this is common. Most of the ground beef produced today contains up to 20% of mechanically separated beef that comes from the trimmings left over from the "good meat" like steak cuts.
    I was raised on potted meat too. My mom still eats the stuff like every week. It is not bad tasting. Make a sandwich and go. Just don't think about it as you are chewing. lol
