Here is my Spectacular KitchenAid fail....
The smoothie did it.
R.I.P. dear friend. Now I guess there will be no smoothies or pureed soups in my future. I had better start saving my pennies for a VitaMix...

Oh my!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've done so many times ourselves... a VitaMix is on our wishlist, too!
No, don't throw it away, you can replace that! They are designed to do that rather than burn up the motor. It was very easy to replace! I bought a 2 pack on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteI read up on it and to avoid it happening in the future, use the pulse to crush up ice and don't push on the top of the blender when it's going.
Ohhh Wow!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it is something you will be able to salvage though, it is not a total loss as Maria stated! I would not be thrilled though.

Oh dear! Maybe it can be salvaged though. Just waiting for our time to come in our household too. www.SproutGear.com
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your great comments. The part cost us about $6 on Amazon, but fixing it might be a bit of a challenge... My DH isn't sure how that will go. Either way the Vitamix is now on my wishlist. Till then we will make do.
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to mine. And I'm still saving my pennies. The worst part is someone sent my sister one for FREE and she doesn't even use hers! I'm so jealous.
