Mamavation Monday - How Does it all Fit?

How was your week?

Monday has become a day to reflect on my journey. Sometimes that is good, sometimes bad, but it always keeps me in check.

Life has been swirling around me and I am trying to accomplish a lot on my plate. The past few days I have been frustrated that I haven't been able to work my beloved walks back into my busy mornings. My toddlers are busy and need me to referee or validate their actions constantly. This means I have a hard time carving out time for projects or personal time. I will just keep trudging along the best I can since I see no end in sight to this. Any advice on doing it all?

I was really excited to get my copy of  the Eat Clean Diet and cookbook. The recipes are very drool worthy!

This week's meal plan was definitely affected by new edition to the personal library. I will let you know next week what I thought of the recipes. The pictures and descriptions sound amazing, though. It is important that I make time to fit in some good food for my family.

So, here is my week's eating plan:

Mon. - Sauteed Chard with Eggs over Brown Rice and Sliced Peaches
Tues. - Quinoa and Black bean bowls, Green Beans and Melon Frozen Pops
Wed. - Orzo Frittata, fresh Tomato Salad
Thurs. - Kale and Lemon over Fresh Pasta, Gazpacho, Pesto rolls
Fri. - BBQ Chicken Chop Salad with Fresh Whole Wheat Bread
Sat. - Crustless Quiche and Creamy Artichoke soup
Sun. - Stir Fry over Brown Rice with Egg Drop Soup.

I am not so happy with my activity level this past week. I am still active with the #100DayBurpeeChallenge and #2WeekChallenge but I don't feel like that is enough to really get me active. It does add a good amount of strength to my normal routine. This week I need to get my Gruve green for 5 out of 7 days.

**My scale pic will be taken & posted as soon as I can get the littlest one down for her nap.

Question: When was the last time you got new workout shoes?  What do you use them for?

Speaking of good "fits"...
It has been several months since I bought new walking/running shoes and just noticed that the soles are wearing out. This is on my list to replace, and will probably spend some birthday money on getting a good pair. My favorite are the Bowerman Series from Nike. We have some great running stores in Eugene, OR (tracktown!) and they do a fabulous job of fitting and working with athletes to get the right shoe fit.

I generally use my shoes for walking or running. I do have some trail runners, but haven't been out much this year. I used to also own a pair of shoes for gym classes, but don't have a membership anymore since I stay home with the kiddos and workout here.

  1. Your meal plan sounds really yummy! Do your toddlers take naps? If they do, maybe get them both to nap at once and workout then. Have a great week!

  2. You're doing great by just continuing to plug along I think. I have also been feeling like the burpees and challenges aren't enough and that I need to add something...maybe I need to turn on the Wii and play a little every night. I'm a wimp so your menu plan is intimidating to me, but I'm super pumped to read how it goes for you! Good luck this week!

  3. I can't even begin to imagine how you're keeping all your balls in the air, but it sounds like you're doing a good job. :)

I can't wait for next week to hear how the new menu goes!
