Mamavation Monday - Lean on Me

How was your week?

A week never seems to be enough time to get everything done for me. I know, so is life! This week in my post I wanted to focus on the importance of leaning on others. Of course supporting those around us in real life or online is important, but just as important is allowing yourself to trust and be supported.

Some days I think I can do it all...  but my life is a whirl of toddler antics, messes and unforeseen circumstances. I mean, I'm a mom. The key to my sanity has been my network and support system. Does that mean I am weak? No, it means I am realistic and want to succeed.

This past week I enjoyed jumping jacks with @GAFlygirl, the #100DayBurpeeChallenge with @PamelaMKramer the #2weekchallenge with @MrBookieBoo and emails and various tweets with online friends that kept me going. I big thank you to all who contributed this week. You are all appreciated.

Don't ever be afraid to ask for help, or to join in on a challenge or event. Everyday is a new chance to start again, refocus and really kick some tail! It doesn't matter what happened yesterday... that is over and done, all that counts is what you choose to do today.

Some of the most amazing feats of human strength and mental fortitude require help. They are not solo endeavors, so why should weight loss be? Whether you are conquering Mt. Everest or facing an impossible number on the scale, it helps to have people around you for support.

Mamavation is a great place to find this support. Just reach out with the hashtag or comment on member's posts. The more support you have the stronger your willpower will be.

My DH has always been willing to help me when I ask. Some days I just struggle to ask before I am mentally defeated. Just shy of being tied up in the closet by my toddlers is not the place to be. Have you ever reached the end of your patience? It can affect your mood, health and outlook on the day.

So this week, if you are feeling low or even feeling good, find someone to support, cheer on or lend your ear to. Feel free to tweet me @notimeMom. This is a new week so embrace it and let go of the last one.

Here is my game plan for the week:

I am currently participating in the Mamavation #2weekchallenge, still going in the #100DayBurpeeChallenge, and have joined in on the #NoFastFood Challenge for all of October. So, I need to move everyday... and will not be tempted by drive-through guilt. I plan to give my crock pot a workout now that Fall weather his hit my neck of the woods. As always I am striving to cook from scratch and find some great new recipes along the way.

Weekly Meal Plan:
Mon - Farm Fresh Dinner (whatever is in the fields)
Tue - Spaghetti & meatballs, salad
Wed - Stuffed & Grilled Burritos, guacamole
Thur - Rice Stuffed Tomatoes, Chef Requested steak
Fri - Breakfast for Dinner - veggie scramble, spinach & potatoes with a smoothie
Sat - Japanese eggplant curry over sticky rice with a cucumber & wakame salad
Sun - Family Dinner (TBA)

My scale pic will be posted for Monday *HERE*

  1. Such an important concept - reaching out for support. Without a support system, everything would be harder. Mamavation, husband, BFF, parents.....these are my support system.

Your post was so positive, I loved it! I absolutely will be joing up on the #NoFastFood Challenge. Thank you for mentioning it. :) Have a good week!!

  3. Great plan! I think that's what I'm missing is the network that is available to me but I justify with too many other things competing for my time. Homeschooling has zapped a lot of time from me but I know at the end of the day, I just need to do it. I like how you are utilizing the online activities to keep you pumped! Have a great week!

  8. I love how you are reminding people to reach out for help because I was all about that. When I was on my weight loss journey I was all about utilizing my resources. I talked to people, I sought help from people, I leaned on people. We all need to do that. And we are all so fortunate to have this community, me especially, because it gives us a solid foundation and support system that others do not have. I heart you darling! XXOO

  9. I've had a hard time admitting defeat and reaching out to ask for help. I'm not one to open up and spill how I truly feel, so hearing that you guys really do care and WANT to help is always comforting.
Good luck with all that you have going on this week!
