I enjoyed reading this first in the Fate Series, paranormal romance by the talented author, Lola James. I have always enjoyed reading stories with twins. It goes all the way back to my Sweet Valley series days, years ago. More than just a sibling, polar opposite twins brings out contrasts the differences in a character's personality.

I liked Megan's slightly darker personality and could relate to her. I have also known many "Morgans" in my life as well. The male characters, hot smoldering Vampires, will have you falling hard, just like Megan.

With a beautiful Italian backdrop for the story, the action, drama and romance had me racing to devour every page in this book. I am looking forward to the next installment so I can see where it will take these great characters.

I was also lucky enough to get an interview with the author, Lola James. I asked her a few questions about the story and her inspiration to be a writer.

Q1: What was your inspiration for your main character, Megan?
I wanted my main character to be different from those of traditional heroine with blonde hair and blue eyes. I also wanted her not be the typical and fall in love at first sight. I have read many paranormal romance stories and it’s so typical that the girl meets the guy and they instantly falls in love, so I twisted the story to be a little different. As for the dream aspect of my story, I have very vivid dreams and I felt this is the best way to write about dreams. I keep a dream journal like Megan and I have hopes that some of my dreams will come true!

Q2: Are you a twin or do you have a sister that you patterned the Megan and Morgan dynamic on?
I do have sister but she wasn’t my inspiration for the dynamic we are 12 years apart and very different. Megan and Morgan are patterned from my best friend. We have been friends for over 20 years and we have their same relationship. Where one of us has a weakness, it is the other strength and we can play off each other the same way!

Q3: Which do you enjoy more, traveling in real life, or traveling in a good book?
I truly enjoy both. I love to travel though, I would love a job that I could travel the world and see every city but since I can’t, I love it when a book take me away even if it’s for a couple hours. But being able to imagine that I am on the beach of an exotic location or on the cold rain cobblestoned streets of some old European city is just as exciting as having the stamps put into my own passport.

Q4: When did you start writing?
I wrote my first story at age twelve. My best friend moved out of the state but she still wanted to know what was going on since she left, so I wrote her a story. I fell in love with storytelling then but realized I could actually be a writer about a year ago.

Q5: Why paranormal romance? What inspired you to work in that genre?
I have always loved vampires and I LOVED romance novels so, when Twilight, yes Twilight exploded on the market making the genre popular I jumped right on it! After reading good indie books in the genre, I said to myself I could do this! I don’t however want to limit myself to just this genre I want to explore other genre’s like mysteries and maybe children’s books one day.

Q6: What author inspires you and your writing the most?
I have an awesome group of writers that I talk to day and they keep me inspired. The author that made me inspired me is Charlaine Harris. After I read her Sookie Stackhouse novels, I knew that I wanted to write for a living!
