#Mamavation Monday - Have a Great Week
Happy Memorial Day everyone!
I am so excited to be here on Monday with a little blog face lift and fresh outlook for the changing season. The strawberries are ripening in the fields and my garden is finally planted. I am looking forward to many more great days outside.
As for food, well, this is my favorite time of year! Our meals become a little less structured and based around what is growing and ready on the farm. Saturday night I grilled a basket of snow peas, today we are tucking into strawberries and tonight I will lightly steam a bunch of sugar snap peas. Do you find your meals change with the seasons? What fresh, local food do you look forward to?
My juicing adventure has started slowly but I am really enjoying it. The Omega 8004 is working out well, but I am already finding myself in a juice rut. I usually throw in; green apples, celery, lemon, ginger, spinach and cucumber. Do you have a favorite? Or favorite recipe site? I am looking to branch out.
Exercise? Well, gardening has been my workout of choice lately. And as a testament to "changing up the routine" I have already lost over 3lbs just by getting outside and moving. My garden space isn't quite weed-free yet, so I have to lose a bit more in the coming week.
I took a bit of a break from my C25K training and after the 5K earlier this month, I need to keep training to improve my time. Any good music you would recommend adding to my playlist? I really need a good beat to pound the pavement to.
Meal Plan - TBA... I am feeling in a South of the Border kinda mood, so probably a bunch of tacos and burritos with fresh salsa, unsweetened ice tea, strawberries and whipped cream - or a slight variation on that model.
Big congrats to Leah on her beautiful baby boy! I hope to add another Mamavation baby to the list next year, and hopefully will have something to announce soon. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!
Have a safe and happy holiday everyone, and thank you to everyone with military family members. I know several Mamavation Sistas have husbands or loved ones serving and we appreciate everything you do for our country.

I wish I could do the juice thing. But I get bored really quick. I do prepare natural strawberry juice for my son. Looking forward to your meal plan
ReplyDeleteWe have some family favorites that we keep in meal rotation year round. This time of year I like to have more salad meals and grilled meals. I love the variety of produce this time of year.
ReplyDeleteOrange and apple juice is always on my meals because they are good for our bodies. And having it on Memorial Day is just about right.
ReplyDeleteWOW - I love your makeover. What do you think? I think it's pretty sweet. I don't see myself going juicing route, but would love to see great ideas you will come up with.
ReplyDeleteI love Cake. Both the food and the music. Something about their sound just gets me moving. As well as Eve 6. ;)
