A new baby. So much potential, a wide open future in front of them. With a new addition to our family on the way I can't help but think about this little baby's future. What will he look like? Will he take more after me or his daddy? What will he be interested in? What will he grow up to be?
My son's mind works so much like his father's. They both like to build, create and solve problems. Currently my son wants to be farmer, like many other men in his family, but a professional chef on the side. Of course, it changes depending on what is going on in his life. If it is garbage day he would tell you he wants to grow up to drive a garbage truck.
My daughter would love to be a ballerina, artist or a firefighter. Of course, she has a lot of time to decided on a career and explore her talents and options.
When I was growing up I wanted to be either a veterinarian or a writer. I guess a blogger living on a farm isn't too far off! I did have the opportunity to go to college and I hope my children will have the same chance if they decided to go that route.
Because all kids have big dreams, and we have big dreams for them, The Gerber Life, "Bring Dreams to Life Video Contest" is all about making your child's dreams come true with a chance at a $10,000 Gerber Life College Plan grand prize. Submit a video capturing your child's hopes and dreams... and be creative! Gerber Life is encouraging to share these dream videos with friends, family and others to increase your chances to win.
Entry is easy, and the "show and tell" format can make this a fun project as well. Here is how to enter Gerber's "Bring Dreams to Life" Contest:
• Step 1 - Take a video of your child (who must be 8 years or younger) telling what he or she dreams of being when they grow up.
• Step 2 - Log onto the Gerber Life Facebook page between February 25 and April 1, 2013 and submit your video to the Bring Dreams to Life contest.
• Step 3 - Share your child’s video with friends and family on Facebook to get votes for a chance to win a $10,000 Gerber Life College Plan. Videos with 100 or more votes will qualify for the final round.
Giveaway Time!!!
One lucky Adventures in All Things Food & Family reader will win a $25 Visa Gift Card and Gerber Life pen. This giveaway ends 3/30 at midnight PST.

ReplyDeleteI'd say that your son is on one awesome path so far in life. Plus, if he winds up doing what he wants to do now in the future, you can't get much better than a chef who grows their own food, respects the ingredients, and knows what is in everything. A very fine path indeed.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I always remember just wanting to write. I started writing stories from the time I learned how to read and write, and I continued along that journey right into high school and wound up being a blogger with aspirations of publishing a novel someday. Somehow, someway.
What a great post! I love the pictures and the entire idea! I used to want to be a teacher!
