Holiday Progressive Dinner: Potluck Dish - Dirt Dip Recipe and Fabulous Giveaway

*Disclaimer - I received the Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System from Crock-Pot to facilitate this review.  No monetary compensation was received and a positive review was not required.  As with all Adventures in All Things Food & Family reviews, all opinions and experiences are my own.

This is the season for office parties and potluck with friends. So I am excited to introduce this week's sponsor, Crock-Pot for potluck recipes and dishes sure to please a hungry crowd. They sent me the new Crock-Pot Hook Up Connectable Entertaining System. This would be the perfect addition to your holiday spread or party and potluck needs.

This 3-piece set really answers the age old question, where do I put all the Crock-Pots? My set contained  one each of the: Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ double oval 1-quart capacity slow cookers Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ round 2-quart capacity slow cooker Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ oval 3.5-quart capacity slow cooker. This allows up to 6 units to be plugged into one outlet.

The plugs nest together saving room between them. The cord also stores inside the base and out of the way. And if that wasn't convenient enough, turn the lids over and the bases are stack-able for easy storage.

Mix and match with the sizes you use most often. I know the double 1-quart size will be getting a lot of use during game time for warm dips, but the larger sizes will be perfect for holiday meals; mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing will fit perfectly.

My other favorite feature is the spoon indentations. These also help to vent moisture and heat, but a good serving spoon fits so perfectly.

The stoneware baking dishes remove for easy cleaning and the smaller size is just perfect size for our famous Dirt Dip recipe. It is my husband's all-time favorite, but now I also have room for another dip choice for my guests.

You can connect with Crock-Pot on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

This week we are posting our favorite potluck dishes. I hope you will be able to find some new holiday favorites from ours.

Potluck Dishes to Get You through the Holiday Rush

Famous Dirt Dip at Adventures in All Things Food

Easy Apple & Cranberry Compote at Flour on My Face

Nacho Bar at The Gunny Sack

My general rule for potluck and party dishes is it should be fast and widely appealing. This 3 ingredient dip is both delicious and fast to throw together. Passed down from my Mother-in-Law, it was what she always made for her boys and their hungry friends. It might not look like much, but it runs out faster than anything at a party. Serve it with a big bag of corn chips or crackers.

The Famous Dirt Dip

You will need:
  • 1 block of cream cheese
  • 1 can of Chili Con Carne, no beans
  • 1 can of diced green chilis
Place all the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for one minute then stir. Return to the microwave and heat for an additional 30 seconds. Stir again and repeat if necessary. Once well blended serve warm, or transfer to a small Crock-Pot to keep it warm for your guests.

Enjoy!

Here is my party spread using the Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System. There is plenty of room for all our dipping favorites.
