...there is no room as used as our bathroom. As a Mom of two little ones I have spent a fair amount of time cleaning it, giving potty training help and well, making use of the door to get a few spare moment of time alone.
Before becoming a parent I loathed cleaning the bathroom. I spent very little time in there and never understood why anyone would install magazine racks or take any longer than they needed in there. Now, it is one of my favorite rooms of the house.
I still don't enjoy cleaning it, but I have new found respect for the freedom that it provides. Whether it is a child-free moment, or my son being independent and diaper free using the toilet on his own, I see our "john" in a whole new light.
We used to have a potty seat in the living room. My son has a very short attention span and to avoid accidents I set up potty chairs all over. In total, I think we have 3 or 4 of them. Cleaning for a big party I managed to put all of them away except for one I missed. During the party, completely unaware that it wasn't "normal" to 'drop trou' in front of 20 people, my son proceeded to pull out and use his potty seat. Luckily the group was full of parents and toddlers so there was some laughter, but no one was too shocked.
Now the only potty seat is in the bathroom.
My biggest trick for potty training is to use a wide variety of potty chairs, benches and seats, but don't rely on them for too long or you might have your own party-potty-moment like mine.
If you have children you probably have your own fair share of humorous bathroom inspired stories. The Clorox Family of Toilet Products has recently launched a fun new website to highlight the humor the bathroom brings into our lives. The Clorox Lounge is looking to turn the bathroom into a laughroom with the help of comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd.
This online community hub hopes to bring a little comic relief into the bathroom. Let's face it. As Moms we can't avoid it, but the Clorox site is providing visitors with coupons, giveaways, anecdotes, contests and more for the most underrated room in the home.
In honor of the site launch, Clorox is hosting a Last Comic Sitting Competition and Sweepstakes. Starting February 27, 2012, and running over the course of eight weeks, 10 of the funniest mom and dad comics will go head-to-head in a stand-up throw-down for the chance to sit on the throne and be crowned the Last Comic Sitting. Each week, they’ll face a new challenge and based on your votes, one will be eliminated. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000. For four weeks, you will have the opportunity to vote and narrow the comics down to the top mom and top dad. Be sure to check out “What Have Your Kids Broken?” for a taste of the fun.
You can also win $10,000 in the Last Comic Sitting Sweepstakes. Simply visit The Clorox Lounge to sign-up and be automatically entered for a chance to win. Visit The Clorox Lounge for additional information.
So what are you waiting for? I can't wait to hear your funniest moments. Feel free to share in the comments below and of course don't miss out on entering the Sweepstakes next week.
